Halo fans, get ready—Microsoft’s legendary franchise is officially making a comeback, and this time, it’s stepping onto new ground with its debut on PlayStation 5.
The Halo series hasn’t seen a fresh release since Halo Infinite in 2021. While Infinite received praise from critics and earned multiple awards, the franchise has remained relatively quiet over the past few years, leaving fans eagerly awaiting its next chapter.
While a direct sequel to Infinite doesn’t seem to be arriving anytime soon, Halo enthusiasts won’t be left waiting empty-handed. Instead, the series is returning through an exciting crossover event with Helldivers 2.
Earlier this week, developers announced the Helldivers 2 x Halo: ODST Legendary Warbond, launching on August 26th. This premium content pack introduces an array of Halo-inspired additions, including:
-
Weapons: MA5C Assault Rifle, M90A Shotgun, M7S SMG, and the M6C/SOCOM Pistol
-
Armour Sets: Two ODST-themed armours
-
Vehicle Skins & Capes: Custom cosmetic options inspired by the Halo universe
-
New Passive Ability: “Feet First,” enhancing stealth and rangefinding
As with other Warbonds, players will also gain access to new banners, titles, and additional cosmetic rewards.
However, there’s a twist—this Legendary Warbond will cost 1,500 Super Credits instead of the standard 1,000. The higher price tag is justified by its expanded content, though licensing Halo’s iconic assets for PlayStation and PC is also likely part of the reason behind the increase.
The crossover pack will be available simultaneously across PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on August 26th, marking Halo’s official arrival on Sony’s platform—a milestone fans never thought they’d see.
With Halo finally branching out beyond Xbox, this crossover not only reignites excitement for the franchise but also highlights how gaming’s biggest universes are becoming more interconnected than ever.
